Oct 20 · Trump says U.S. got “nothing back” from Ukraine but “high diesel”
PBS NewsHour: WATCH: Trump says U.S. has gotten 'nothing' from Ukraine other than 'high diesel,' urging deal
Grade B (82/100). Full raw answer, Hubbard question
Lehrer score 82/100 (−18 omission: raw remarks: no narration, no Ukrainian response or context for Trump's figures: “[2:26] Zelensky has to want to settle this war.”). Fixed scale: 90+ A, 80s B, 70s C, 60s D, under 60 F → B.
Raw Oval Office footage. Trump's figures run with no context, e.g. [2:05] “We gave $350 billion” and [3:29] “last month they lost 32,000 people.” No Ukrainian response.
Agrees: Same “high diesel” and “has to want to settle” lines
Splits: Longest cut: includes the Oslo question and the Hubbard exchange
- Met. Rule: do nothing I cannot defend (unedited remarks, question included)
- Broken. Rule: assume there is at least one other side ([2:26] Zelensky has to want to settle this war.)
